MSBK Round 2 Interview

Before the race weekend, Alen said, “One day, I want to race on this stage.”

At MSBK Round 2, that dream finally became reality.

Making his debut in one of Asia’s premier motorcycle racing championships, Alen qualified 17th, successfully finished Race 1 in wet conditions, and fought his way to 10th place in Race 2.

His first MSBK weekend is now behind him. Looking back on a weekend filled with challenges, learning, and unforgettable experiences, here’s what he had to say.

“It was so much fun.”

When asked about his first MSBK experience, Alen answered with a smile.

It was so much fun.

For him, the biggest achievement wasn’t simply finishing the races.

Throughout the weekend, he carefully studied the riders ahead—their racing lines, braking points, and riding techniques. While on track, he even found himself recalling how MotoGP riders approach different corners and tried applying those techniques himself.

When it worked, I was really happy.

For Alen, racing in MSBK wasn’t just competing—it became one of the most valuable lessons he has ever experienced.

Racing Against Asia’s Best

Asked what impressed him most during the weekend, Alen didn’t hesitate.

Everyone was incredibly fast. Racing together with these riders was the most memorable part.

MSBK had always been something he watched on television and online. Standing on the same grid and racing against some of Asia’s top riders gave him a whole new perspective—and even greater motivation to keep improving.

The Rain He Feared Finally Arrived

Before the event, Alen admitted that rain was what worried him the most. Just before Race 1, the skies opened, turning the race into a wet contest.

Honestly, my first thought was, ‘OMG……’ But once I was there, I knew I just had to deal with it.

With it being his first visit to Sepang, his first MSBK race, and now a wet race as well, the pressure was immense.

So he set himself two simple goals:

Finish the race safely without crashing.
Improve his pace every lap.

Lap by lap, he gained confidence while building valuable experience.

Finding the Breakthrough in Race 2

Starting from 17th on the grid, Alen fought his way forward to finish 10th in Race 2. Looking back on Race 2, Alen felt his strongest point was his race start.

I think my race start was really good.

However, the biggest breakthrough came at Turn 14, in the final sector of Sepang International Circuit. Throughout the weekend, he repeatedly experimented with different ways of approaching the corner.

I just couldn’t find the right rhythm through Turn 14, so I kept trying different approaches.

He adjusted his braking points, lean angle, and throttle application lap after lap. Near the end of Race 2, everything finally came together.

During the last few laps, I finally found the feeling. My lap times suddenly became much faster

Before the weekend, Alen had said that improving his personal best lap time mattered more than his finishing position. That goal became reality.

A Dream Achieved—Only the Beginning

Asked where he had grown the most over the weekend, Alen answered:

I gained a lot of experience in high-speed combination corners.

As for what he most wants to improve before his next MSBK appearance, his answer remained simple.

Definitely rain.

The rain that once worried him most is no longer just something to fear. Now, it’s the next challenge he wants to conquer.
