Pre-Race Interview
About MSBK Round 2
── How did you feel when you found out you would be racing in MSBK?
I was really happy. I’ve always watched MSBK and ARRC races, so being able to compete against those riders—and watch them ride up close—is something I’m really looking forward to.
Alen first experienced MSBK as a spectator when his father, Fu Ao Ieong, competed in the championship. During the same weekend, he also watched the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, which inspired him to dream of racing on the same stage one day.
A few years later, that dream has become reality as he prepares to line up on the MSBK starting grid for the very first time.
── Are you nervous, or more excited?
It’s a huge stage, so of course I’m nervous. But honestly, I’m even more excited.
── How have you prepared for this race?
I’m not very confident in wet conditions, so I’ve spent a lot of time practicing in the rain. I’m not perfect yet, but I want to give everything I have.

Earlier this year, Alen suffered a crash during a race in Macau, which left him less confident in wet conditions. Instead of letting that fear stop him, he has continued working hard in the rain, gradually rebuilding his confidence ahead of his first MSBK race.
── What are you looking forward to the most?
Definitely Sepang International Circuit. I’ve driven the track many times in a video game, so I can’t wait to ride it for real.
A circuit he has explored countless times in a racing game is finally becoming reality. For Alen, racing at Sepang is more than just another event—it’s the fulfillment of a dream he has held for years.
── Is there anything you’re worried about?
Probably the rain.
── What is your goal for this weekend?
More than my finishing position, I want to improve my lap time.
── Do you have a message for everyone supporting you?
I’m very grateful to the team and our sponsors for giving me this opportunity. I’d also like to thank my family, my friends, and everyone I train with for always supporting me.
About Alen
── When did you start riding motorcycles?
I started when I was 14. It’ll be three years very soon. My father encouraged me to try racing, and I thought it was really fun, so I’ve kept practicing ever since.
── Who is your favorite rider?
Fabio Quartararo. I really admire his determination to never give up, no matter how many setbacks he faces.
── What’s your favorite circuit you’ve ridden so far?
The Sepang Kart Circuit, where I rode during the Asia Talent Cup selection event. It has lots of different corners and combinations, and it’s incredibly fun to ride.

── What do you usually think about before a race?
First, I stay focused. Then I think about riding safely and doing my best. I just want to get the best result I can, because I know everyone in the team is working really hard for me.
“Stay focused. Stay safe.”
Those simple words say a lot about Alen’s approach to racing. While many young riders talk mainly about speed, Alen places equal importance on staying calm, making smart decisions, and respecting the team’s efforts. His determination to deliver a good result is driven not only by personal ambition, but also by his appreciation for everyone supporting him.
── How would you describe your riding style in one sentence?
Stable.
My father, my coach in Malaysia, and our team director, Neng, have all taught me that staying calm and riding consistently are the most important qualities of a racer. That’s something I always try to keep in mind whenever I’m on the bike.
── What kind of rider do you want to become in the future?
I want to become a professional rider who is known for consistency.
── How would you like fans to remember you?
I’d like people to think of me as a rider with a smooth and clean riding style. I also hope to become someone without any obvious weaknesses. I’m not there yet—I still have a lot to improve—but I’ll keep working on every weakness until one day I become that rider.
A Dream Becomes Reality
As a child, Alen watched his father’s races from the sidelines and dreamed of standing on the same stage one day.
Now, that dream is becoming reality.
His first MSBK race marks the beginning of a new chapter in his racing career, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting him as he takes this exciting first step toward an even bigger future.
